Welcome to the Laurel Forge website!

Laurel Forge is owned and operated by blacksmith Mark Schlehofer, a life-long resident of this quintessential part of northeast Connecticut.   Mark's pursuit in the art of blacksmithing was kindled while observing a demonstration at a New England Shaker village.  From there, classes in metalwork and many months of self-taught forging, anvil work and welding have culminated in the opening of Laurel Forge.
